CULTURE.
Russell Glen is partnering with Houston-based investor John Quinlan to reimagine the former Macroplaza Mall at the intersection of Pasadena Boulevard and Southmore Avenue. Located in Pasadena, one of the largest and most diverse cities in Harris County, this redevelopment represents a significant opportunity to restore relevance and vitality to a long-overlooked site.
Envisioned as a vibrant, mixed-use destination, Pasadena Square will be anchored by a new regional Harris Health Medical Center, complemented by grocery, entertainment, restaurants, office space, and a centrally programmed public park. Together, these uses are designed to create a new hub of activity that serves both daily needs and long-term community growth.
Situated in North Pasadena, a traditionally underinvested area with a rich and deeply rooted Mexican-Latino cultural identity, the project is intentionally designed to reflect and celebrate the community it serves. From placemaking and programming to tenant mix and public space, Pasadena Square embraces culture as a defining asset, not an afterthought.
“This redevelopment exemplifies Russell Glen’s approach to transformational development by honoring local identity, aligning essential services, and converting legacy retail into enduring community and economic anchors.”
