Advising at the Highest Level of Downtown Dallas

Omni Hotel Dallas — Dallas, Texas

When the City of Dallas set out to develop one of its most significant public-private partnerships in history, Russell Glen was at the table. Working alongside Matthews Southwest and the City of Dallas as retail advisors, Russell Glen helped shape the dining and retail strategy for what would become the crown jewel of Dallas's convention district — the four-star, full-service Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel. Secured through $346 million in public financing, the 1,001-key hotel features 110,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space, a fitness center, a premier upscale spa, and a direct sky-bridge connection to the Dallas Convention Center. With a contemporary reflective glass exterior and interiors enriched by native textures, art, and materials that embody the spirit of Dallas, this was no ordinary hotel — it was a statement for an entire city.

Russell Glen's retail advisory role helped bring the surrounding dining district to life, curating a lineup that served both world-class convention guests and everyday Dallas residents. Biergarten, Café Herrera, Coal Vines, and Owner's Box became the social anchors of the Convention Center corridor — a 16,000-square-foot restaurant project built on city-owned land, developed in partnership with Matthews Southwest and the Omni, with each concept offering outdoor patio space designed to activate the streets of downtown Dallas. It was advisory work executed at the highest level, delivering lasting impact on one of the most visited blocks in the city.
